Gregg Dahl makes the first 160mph run in S&S Outlaw Street. Nick Gonatas makes quickest Street V-Rod pass
The bar was raised for V-Twin shootout racers when GMS Racing Engine’s Gregg Dahl made the first official run in the 160s In S&S Cycle Inc. Outlaw Street at the AMRA Nitro Nationals at Rockingham Dragway May 31 and June 1. The pass was made in the second round of qualifying and was backed up for the National record in the semifinals. Throughout the event Gregg also set the remaining standards with 1/8 mile marks of 5.573 @ 131.28 and 1/4 mile marks of 8.586 @ 160.98.
Dahl advanced to the finals where a clutch issue forced an aborted run against Nick Gonatas riding the Warren Harley Davivson V-rod.Gonatas ripped of an 8.64 @ 154mph run that is the quickest to date by a street legal V-Rod. AMRA’s Outlaw Street division is only getting hotter and the results at the Rock make it official.
