NOTES AND QUOTES: Despite the changes to her life and her bike that occurred during the off-season, it was business as usual for Angelle and the Team Winston/Star Racing Suzuki this past weekend. Featuring a new Husband and a new Star Racing/Vortex II engine combination, Angelle picked up where she left off in 2000 with a series of consistent elimination runs and a win in the final over long-time rival Matt Hines. This also marked the 50th career win for George Bryce as a rider/team owner and brings Angelle within two races of tieing Shirley Muldowney's record for the most wins by a female.

George Bryce: "I know I've said it before...but this is the most gratifying win of my career! We had low E.T. all 4 rounds and Angelle drove better than anyone out there. I told her: Let's show the world why and how you got the #1 on your bike!"

Angelle: "Wow! I thought it was going to be easier, for some reason, after we won the championship! These guys are hard to beat. Thank you Star Racing and our sponsors for helping "us" capture our first Houston win and our first win in 2001. We never gave up. George said "we are survivors and fighters, let's keep digging!" I think our competition was very surprised!"

NHRA/Winston Pro Stock Motorcycle Point Standings: 1. Angelle (115) 2. Matt Hines (97) 3. Antron Brown (78) 4. Craig Treble (76) 5. Geno Scali (57).
