Team Muzzy Wraps Up The Season In Pomona

As The 2003 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Season drew a close Sunday, Nov 9 at The Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona CA, the Team Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-12R Pro Stock Motorcycle had yet to qualify. Performance improved with nearly every race and the last few races found the bike in the field only to be bumped out. At Pomona, Team Muzzy rider Ryan Schnitz put the bike in the field with a respectable 7.306 sec., 182.11 mph pass but in the fourth round of qualifying Fred Camarena bumped Ryan out with a 7.269 second run. The season ended with less than four hundredths of a second keeping the Team Muzzy bike out of the field.

While certainly not the result the team had hoped for, the performance of the Muzzy ZX-12 was excellent for a first year‚s effort. Development will continue and it is only a matter of time before there is a Team Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-12R in the winner‚s circle.
