NHDRO – No Hatin’ Drag Racing Organization
Summer Celebration
Lucas Oil Raceway – Indianapolis, IN
August 7-9, 2015

After a two-race road stint to the St. Louis area’s Gateway International and Louisville’s Ohio Valley Dragway, Brian and Niki Welch welcome the NHDRO family back to Lucas Oil Raceway near Indianapolis, Indiana, for the NHDRO Summer Celebration on August 7-9.

With MotoGP and MotoAmerica lapping at the Speedway and thousands of bikes cruising downtown, it’s officially Motorcycle Weekend in the world speed capital and NHDRO will be holding up their end on the west side.

The high-tech horsepower kings of it all are the street legal beasts of McIntosh Machine & Fabrication Pro Street. Nothing racing anywhere in town will reach the top end speeds of Pro Street bikes, especially the turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa of points leader Bud Yoder. With two wins and one runner-up in three races this year, Yoder has shown himself to be the man to beat.

Pre-Race Info : NHDRO Brings Motorcycle Drag Racing Back to Indy

SUNDAY BLOG

9:00am – Racers took the track at 8am today to get a head start on the impending weather. While most racers slept through the night last night, many racers were up until the wee hours of the morning this morning. Some racers were partying to music, and some were racing anything the could get their hands on. And then on the other side of the spectrum was Ryan Hable working furiously to fix a cam in the their Pro Street bike. Indy hasn’t been good to the Hable’s with a plague of issues every outing to this track. We left them last night at about 2:30 am while they were stuck on an issue. But one thing is for sure, they typically always get their problems figured out by first round of eliminations. Hopefully that will be the case for them today.

10:15am – Unexpected rain has just moved in. We thought we had a few more hours. Brian Welch will be making a decision in an hour.

11:35am – We are cleaning the track so that we can continue with racing action.

12:00pm – The race has been called and we will finish up what we have left at the Fall Fury at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 25-27th. Pro Street and Pro Comp will finish up during qualifying on Saturday and Sportsman need to be back at the track Friday night at 8pm to finish their eliminations. Safe Travels and see you in September! Look for a full report in a few days along with more photos from the NHDRO photographers!
