12:49 p.m. – Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.78 inches, adjusted altitude 1,851 feet, track temperature 113 degrees. Boyer got off the starting line well before Malloy started but then Boyer’s motorcycle started having engine problems and he slowed. Malloy went down the track to take the win and move on to the next round.

These two riders came off the starting line at almost the same time. Tharpe’s motorcycle started to pull ahead right away and continued to move further out in front as they made their way down the track. Tharpe will move on to the second round.

Pelrine had the quicker start but looked like it smoked the rear tires right away. House was later at the tree but made a good run down the track to take the win. He’ll face Malloy in the next round and Malloy will have lane choice.

Kile had the quicker light but Turner took the lead before they reached 60 feet and led at 330 feet. Turner’s motorcycle had trouble after that and Kile went on for the win. Kile will race Tharpe in round two and Tharpe will have lane choice.

When they got to about 60 feet, Malloy’s motorcycle popped and he slowed. House’s motorcycle spun the rear tire but he got back into the run enough to take the win.

Kile had the quicker start and was leading the race at 660 feet. Tharpe kept it close and pulled after after mid track to take the win and get a spot in the final round.

3:19 p.m. – Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 37 percent, barometer 29.73 inches, adjusted altitude 2,130 feet, track temperature 112 degrees. Coming into this race, Tharpe had been in two final rounds and lost both of them. This time, Tharpe was quicker at the tree and extended his lead as they went down the track to take his first national event win.

Kile’s motorcycle launched and shut down. He did not cross the finish line so he received not time. Scott had a clean run down the groove.

Pelrine’s motorcycle hopped around a bit when he shifted the transmission at mid track. Tharpe had a strong run down the groove to take over the top spot in the order for now.

Malloy’s motorcycle got out to about 100 feet when there was a flash of fire and smoke from the engine. Boyer went down his lane for the number three spot in the order for now.

House carried the front wheel in the air from about 330 feet to 1,000 feet. Turner set a new class ET Record with this ride and moved into the top spot in the qualifying order for now.

Scott had his quickest ride of the weekend but it was not quick enough move him up in the order. Tharpe was not quite as quick as the first session yesterday.
