With lots of rain in the forecast and the Covid-19 pandemic putting restrictions on East Coast Nationals, the Pro Nitrous Motorcycle was only contested by four racers. Paul Gast, Chris Garner Jones, Travis Davis, and Brunson Davis showed up for the first event of the year. Paul Gast took the top qualifying spot running a 4.09, followed by Jones 4.127, Davis 4.142, and Grothus with a 4.149 making it a tight field.
In round one of eliminations Grothus had the starting line advantage on Gast, but Grothus lost momentum and Gast took the win with 4.098 to his 4.492. On the other side of the ladder, Davis took the win with a 4.053 over Jones’s 4.080. In the second round final, Travis Davis cut a better .026 light to Paul Gast’s .047. Gast ran quicker with a 4.013 but Davis’s starting line advantage gave him the win light despite running a slower 4.030 ET.

Mother Nature won on Friday with thunderstorms and rain showers. Jr. Dragsters racers completed one qualifying before officials canceled qualifying the day. Racing will resume Saturday morning with Q1 at 10 am.
