Final two races will determine Class Champions
Finals – October 24-25, 2015
PMRA, presented by Fast by Gast, is in the home stretch of the 2015 race season. In most classes, only one or two rounds separate first and second and even third place! With a championship on the line, racers are getting their bikes prepped and will be heading to Tulsa Raceway Park for the conclusion of the PMRA season. Who will bring home the championships? Who will get to display the trophies and wear the jacket?
In Street ET, sponsored by Schnitz Racing, Tim Howard, Ben Gartner and Todd Smith are all tied with 1200 points each. Each rider has won a race and each has collected a runner up this season. Glen Todd is right behind them with 1000 points and Brandon Jones with 900 points. All of these riders and even others have a chance to the 2015 Schnitz Racing Street ET Champion.
In the Pingel Enterprise Pro ET class, Brian Wood enjoys a 500 point lead over closest pursuer Jon Haney. Brian comes into the finals with a 1600 point total and Haney sitting at 1100 points. Brenda Kay is mathematically in contention with 900 points, 700 behind Woods. Can Woods once again reign supreme in the Pro ET class? The winner of this class will also receive a $500 cash bonus compliments of YouNMe Racing.
In Super Gas, sponsored by Wedman Motorsports, Jim Miller comes in with 1391 points, a 227 point lead over former Super Gas champ Jon Haney who has 1164 points. Winning the September race firmly put Jeff Shelton into contention. Jeff is just 333 points out of the lead. This will be a nail biter as all the Super Gas racers can run the number and get to the coveted Winner’s Circle.
In the Brock’s Performance Super Street class, a familiar name at the top of the current standings, Tim Howard with 1058 points has a narrow 15 point lead over Jeremiah Anderson who has 1043 points. Sitting less than one round out of first place is Glen Todd with 985 points, just 73 points from first. All three racers have had a win and a runner up in this season. CJ Turner currently sits in fourth at 940 points, that’s one round and a few qualifying positions out of first. Super Street has always been a great class to watch and these deadly racers will be vying for the 2015 Championship in style.
In Super Comp, sponsored by Ajax Kawasaki and Tombo Racing, multi-time class champion Dwayne Gaines with 1158 points holds a narrow 18 point lead over David Steel who has 1140 points coming into the final two racer. Scott Sober sits firmly in third with 1058 points – just 100 points out of the lead. Lucas Townsend rounds out the championship contenders with 958 points, only 200 points from taking home the title.
In the Fast By Gast Top Gas class, we have four legitimate contenders for the 2015 Top Gas title. Kenny Schwartz leads the charge with 1185 points. Just 39 points behind him, with 1146 points is Kevin Oglesby who made a jump in points with a crucial win in September. Former two-time Top Gas champ Phil Snare sits just 121 points back out of first with 1064 points. Brian Wood sits in 4th place currently with 970 points, a mere 215 points back.
In the S&S Cycle, Nitro Pro Dragster class, rookie Lee Langlois with 985 points has less than a one round advantage over Dustin Werner who has 900 points. Sitting in 3rd place with 688 points, just 297 points back is September race winner Dave Larson. People run to the line to watch these amazing machines blast down the quarter-mile.
In Pro Open, sponsored by Mr. Paint, Mark Rendeluk holds the largest lead of any class coming in to the finals with a points total of 1700. The only threat to Mark claiming another Pro Open title is Ray Marquardt by virtue of his race win in September. Ray is 675 points out of first with a total of 1025. As we saw in September, nothing is certain when the lights on the tree drop. In addition, Craig Brown of Brown Roofing will be awarding the 2015 Pro Open Class Champion a $500 cash award.
