Round 2 Kicks off this weekend at Thunder Valley
PMRA presented by Fast by Gast Round 2 kicking off Saturday June 25, 2016 at Thunder Valley Raceway in Noble, OK with gates opening at 3:00 pm and qualifying beginning at 5:00
With Round 1 in the books back in April and Round 2 coming this weekend racers are chomping at the bit to go for another hit as the PMRA makes its return to Thunder Valley. PMRA will have a special class for this race only, with a 4.50 index class added to the mix. Roy Sears says he is taking home the check PMRA and Tombo Racing are putting up for a purse.
Mr. Paint Pro Open
With class sponsor and multi-time champion Mark Rendeluk coming off a win in Round 1, and 2 Man Cup wins this season he wants to keep his perfect season going. #2 Adrian Lottie, Charlie Finch, and Vince Testa know there are more races left and which gives more opportunities for Mark to be beat.
Fast By Gast Top Gas
Another 3 time champ, “Phast” Phil Snare, came out swinging with a win in first round and he wants to dominate the class. An old rivalry that dates back to the Super Comp days is getting revved up with Nick Jones coming out of retirement to try and take down Phil. Nick was runner-up in Round 1 and Phil’s cross-town rival Larry Green will surely be there to help make sure Phil doesn’t coast to an easy win.
Sea Breeze Pools Super Comp
This is my favorite class, with a street bike taking the round 1 win with relative newcomer pilot Lucas (enter me in all classes) Townsend over another returning veteran Traci Farr on a car tire chassis bike. Traci assured me another loss was not in her plans again. Also returning to the track is Elyse McKinnon on another street bike and she finished third in round 1. This could very easily be a female and or street bike dominated class. Multi time champ Dewayne Gains told me it was a minor error that kept him from the win in round 1, but he will be back for round 2 and plans on winning. We will see what the other 16 entries say about that.
Wedman Motorsports Super Gas
Jon “Hurricane” Haney squeaked out another win in round 1to back up his multi-time championship with his old trusty Honda Blackbird and he wants to rename the class Wedman Motorsports Super Haney just so everyone knows who the one to beat is. Stacy Holden runner-up on round 1 and said Jon who? With the absence of any one named Miller in round 1, I am sure round 2 being in the Millers back yard will surely draw out at least 1.
Tombo Racing Super Street
Fresh out of the Army and digging back into civilian life, Cody Cackler had Vaughan racing dig out his old zx14 and give him a pep talk and helped put him in the winners circle in round 1 but runner-up Lucas Townsend really wants to have two class wins in round 2. Wil Marquardt has the old proven zx14 that Dr. Joe put together lined out and knows he can overcome the other racers.
Pingel Racing Pro ET
This class just gets tougher and tougher with race 1 winner Brian Wood going to the final against Jon Haney. Wood showed why he is multi-time Pro ET champion by making it through a tough field of opponents. Wood will be debuting a new bike and we wonder if it is up to the task of beating the other serious pro ET racers.
Schnitz Racing Street ET
This class just keeps some tough players hanging around. Tim Howard took down Shawn Roetto in round 1 but new Racer Lewis Brown wasn’t going to let them get too far away and plans on taking the prize in race 1, but looking over the points list, you can’t count any of these players out.
Synergy Motorworks E Street
With the debut of this class at the first race, we are looking forward to seeing it grow and introduce more new racers to the sport. Jack Boyd is coming off the round 1 win looking to keep his win streak alive but being a true novice class James Thompson wants the big plaque. You never know who will show up for this class. Word is Sooner State ABATE is bringing out several riders wanting to try their hand at the track and raise awareness for motorcycles.
