Pro Stock Motorcycle Racer Shawn Gann Passes

Services have been announced for Shawn Blake Gann, 42, who died on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Glenn’s Chapel Church Cemetery, 752 Glenn Chapel Road, Stoneville, NC  27048, while observing the recommended social distancing guidelines.

Born on January 17, 1978 in Martinsville, Virginia, Shawn was a longtime NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racer.  Shawn rode his Gann Custom Pro Stock Motorcycle to many national event wins from 2000 until 2017.  His impressive career, warm personality and sense of humor on and off of the race track will always be remembered.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everette “Ebb” Gann and Barbara Barrow Gann and maternal great-grandparents, Frank and Fan Knight.

Survivors include his parents, Blake and Lisa Knight Gann; sons, Andrew Blake Gann and Ethan Blake Gann; daughter, Ruby Mae; maternal grandparents, Mac Knight and Lee Frances Morton and great-uncle, Larry Barrow.

Shawn will lie in state at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison on Thursday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for those wishing to sign a register and pay their respects.

On May 16, 2020 Shawn Gann at the age of 42 has died from suicide. Shawn Gann is known for his flashy metallic leathers and a personality larger than life. He was a son, and a father, he will l be missed by many, and we ask that you keep his family in your prayers.
