Prostar Announces Interim Tech Director

AMA’s Terrie Siegfried has been named the interim Tech Director for U.S. Drag Racing Series.   Since 1994, Prostar Motorcycle Drag Racing has been sanctioned and affiliated with the American Motorcyclist Association.  In that time, Prostar has been assisted on many occasions by AMA’s tech department and staff.  Prostar has always stridden to uphold the standards set by AMA.

Keith Kizer, President of CEO of Prostar stated, “The biggest concern in our sport is safety and having an even playing field for the competitors. Our tech staff has been more than overwhelmed in the past making it difficult for any of them to address tech issues on a day to day basis.  It is my hopes that with Terrie aboard we can finally shift all tech concerns to one person as opposed to being shared by me and other part-time tech staff.”

Kizer also stated, “We are not going to cure all of our tech issues overnight and will certainly allow Terrie and his team time to sort out rules discrepancies one at a time and not allow unwarranted protest.”

Terrie Siegfried is the current Chief Tech Inspector for the AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship series.  Prostar’s plans will be to utilize Siegfried’s services for the remainder of the year and help sort out changes within the rulebook to closer align drag racing with the AMA’s strict adherence to rules.  After the 2005 schedules are set, Siegfried will see what Superbike races and drag racers overlap and determine if his role can become a more permanent position.
