Scali Confident in Cali

Defending NHRA Pro Stock Bike champion Geno Scali is looking forward to this weekend’s NHRA Fram Autolite Nationals from Sonoma, CA, the same state where he collected his first NHRA POWERade championship last November.

“We’ve had pretty good luck out west,” Scali said. “We’ve worked very hard the last couple of weeks and I feel very confident heading into this race.”

During the last four rounds of racing Scali has improved his ranking in the POWERade points series from seventh to third. With seven races left this season Scali hopes to continue his climb to the top.

“I’m looking to go rounds and get some points this weekend,” Scali said. “We feel good about our progress but now is no time to look back. This would be a great weekend to start a win streak.”

Scali hopes to collect his elusive fifth NHRA career victory at a track in which he won at last season.

“This was a really big win for us last year,” Scali said. “It gave us the momentum to finish strong. I’m hoping for the same type of push this weekend.”

In the POWERade point standings Scali is currently 235 behind leader Andrew Hines, and 89 behind second place Shawn Gann.
