Former SEMDRA Standout Jason Sullivan made his professional NHRA debut at the Mac Tools Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL, March 18th-21st.

“It was very exciting to be there,” Sullivan said. “The people involved make it a lot of fun.”

Two weeks prior to the Gatornationals Sullivan made his first Pro Stock appearance at the AMA/Prostar race, also at Gainesville Raceway.

“We went a 7.40 at 182 during the Prostar race so we thought we could do the better,” Sullivan said. “We learned a lot and we will definitely be ready to improve at the next race.”

Sullivan plans to feverishly work on his program during the next couple of weeks in preparation of the upcoming events.
“We’re off to test next week,” Sullivan said. “If all goes well we will head to Houston for the next NHRA race. No matter what we plan to run the next Prostar race in Atlanta. The more seat time we can get the better. We feel like we improve a great deal each race.”

Sullivan was very pleased with the overall performance of the motor and the horsepower it produced.

“I ran one of my Dave Schultz’s motors and it has a lot of power considering its age,” Sullivan said. “We’re going to be working with George Babor who did a great job on Chris Bostick’s clutch and bike set up, so he will be setting us up with something very similar. Bostick was in the top 5 all weekend in 60’, so if we can get down to that we’ll be in good shape. We are making good power on the top-end.”

Sullivan believes the key to succeed is getting a handle on the clutch.

“I spun the tire really bad this weekend and have had a horrible time learning the clutch set up that Dave Schultz used in these motors, so we’ll use Babor’s clutch from now on” Sullivan said. “So I know that there is more performance still left in the bike,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan’s highlight of the race was Chris Bostick’s party that raised money for the family of Sullivan’s friend Brian Schultz who was tragically killed at the beginning of March.

“That made the whole weekend in itself,” Sullivan said. “We racers are like one big family out here.”

Like most Pro Stock racers, Sullivan is looking for a marketing partner to complete the team.

“I am willing to help support and promote a sponsor’s business to the best of my ability, “Sullivan said. “I feel I have a lot to offer. I already own all of the equipment. I am looking for a sponsor merely to help with the traveling expenses and maintenance fees.”

Sullivan’s beautiful Hayabusa and 26-foot trailer would make a great billboard for any business wishing to gain exposure. Anyone interested in backing this up-and-coming rider can contact him at

Likewise Sullivan expressed his appreciation for all of his sponsors; Paul Gast at Fast by Gast, Bates Leathers, Don Plessor at the PR Factory Store, and Fair Lending Financial Services (407) – 622-1118

Special thanks to the folks at RacePaks for all the help throughout the weekend. Keep an eye out for Jason Sullivan and his Fair Lending Hayabusa to emerge as a heavy-hitter in the forthcoming races.
